Socialist? Communist? Progressive? Liberal? Choice?

Lisa Graas posted something on her blog that got me to thinking: There is a lot of evil in this world that is hiding behind seemingly good terms. I'm going to look at these terms and the definition given for them by the dictionary on my iMac.
Socialism: "a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole."
Socialism sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately, all political entities that identify themselves as "socialist" have all the means of production, distribution, and exchange owned and regulated by an elite few and the community as a whole is enslaved to serve this elite few. Therefore, they are not really socialist. True socialism is good. What's usually called "socialism" is evil.
Communism: "...a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs."
I didn't like the beginning of the definition my iMac gave me, but the last half was good. If you read the beginning of the Acts of the Apostles, the first Christians were communist in the truest sense. Unfortunately, the first half of the definition my iMac gave me is what communism means to most: "a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to..." Class war could be a positive thing, but what Karl Marx preached was not. Again, all political entities that identify themselves as "communist" have all the property owned by an elite few, and the common person is paid according to what that elite few is willing to give up, which usually amounts to slavery. Therefore, they are not really communist. True communism is good. What's usually called "communism" is evil.
Progressive: "(of a group, person, or idea) favoring or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas."

Liberal: "(of a group, person, or idea) favoring or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas."
Jesus was the ultimate liberal and each step in salvation history from Genesis to Revelations and even through to Nicaea I, Trent and Vatican II was progressive. Unfortunately, those that usually call themselves "liberal" or "progressive" want to throw away all the progress of Genesis to Revelations and even Nicaea I, Trent and even Vatican II. Sure, they like to use the phrase "the spirit of Vatican II"; however, what they say is the spirit of Vatican II usually contradicts the actual documents of that council. Since they want to discard the progressive liberation of Christ, they are not really progressive or liberal. Being progressive and liberal is good. What's usually called "progressive" and "liberal" is evil.
Choice: "an act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities: the choice between good and evil. [T]he right or ability to make, or possibility of making, such a selection.  [A] range of possibilities from which one or more may be selected. [A] course of action, thing, or person that is selected or decided upon."
I tried "pro-choice", but that was defined as, "advocating legalized abortion: a pro-choice demonstration. Compare with pro-life." The problem with what is usually called "pro-choice" is that a choice is never given. The only option that is given is abortion; that is, the murder of an innocent child. If a mother was given the option of loving her baby and killing her baby, I  seriously doubt very many mothers would choose to kill their babies, and those that would choose to kill their babies desperately need psychological counselling. Usually, these women become mothers due to a  lack of sexual choice due to either pressure by a male ("prove you love me" or outright rape) or ignorance of what sexuality is really for. When offered an informed choice, most will choose good. Like the serpent in the garden, the pro-choice movement wants good eliminated from the options; hence, they are not really pro-choice. A true choice is a good thing. What is usually called "pro-choice" is evil.

I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

God is good for our society and our community. He's given us liberal progress. And He wants us to make good choices. All the rest is evil.

Thanks Lisa for inviting me to contribute to your blog :-)
